Trump's New Time Cover Has Everyone Roasting Him With His Own Words
Though he was thrilled about it and called it a “tremendous honor” while on the “Today” show, it’s safe to say he will not be a fan of this new cover. It essentially represents the shit storm Trump has rained down on America since becoming president.
“Nothing to see here.”
Trump’s first month as president has been exceptionally chaotic.
In his first four weeks, Trump has been focusing on the petty issue of inauguration crowd size, constantly bragging about his “historic” electoral college win (it wasn’t historic), angering Mexico (again) over the issue of who will pay for his border wall, telling constant lies, feuding with the judiciary over his botched travel ban on refugees and people from seven predominately Muslim countries, watching his national security adviser resign amid growing concerns about his administration’s relationship with Russia, inspiring ongoing protests across the world and continuing his “war” against the media.
And that’s just the short version of his “accomplishments” so far.
Trump is the most unpopular new president in modern US history, and it’s not hard to see why. Long story short: This new Time cover is painfully accurate.
It’s also a reminder of Trump’s ambivalent relationship with the magazine and the many statements he’s made about it in the past.
Many are joking about the fact Trump bragged he had been on more Time covers than anyone else during a bizarre and highly narcissistic speech at the CIA in January.
Also, quick fact check: Richard Nixon has actually been on Time’s cover more than anyone else, not Trump.
Trump might think twice before bragging about being on the cover of Time in the future.
Clearly, it’s not always a good thing.
